Support Us

The Tim Stead Trust is a registered charity. Our work depends on the generosity of individuals, trusts, foundations and partners. Not everyone supports us with money, we also have dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers without whom we would not be able to achieve our ongoing ambitions.

How you can help →

Make a Donation

One-off and regular donations support conservation, archive care, learning programmes and organisational resilience. One-off and regular donations help us to:

  • care for the collection and archive

  • develop learning and public programmes

  • invest in organisational resilience

Become a Friend of the Trust

Taking on a Friends Membership is a way to actively support the care of The Steading and the continuation of Tim Stead’s legacy. Membership costs £30 per year and provides vital unrestricted support.

Volunteering

Become part of our active volunteer community and help bring Tim Stead’s legacy to life. If you would like to become more involved please contact us.

Become a Patron of the Trust

Our journey this far would not have been possible without the amazing generosity of people who place great value on art, craft, culture community and the environment.

You can join these individual, families and trusts by making a significant contribution over £500 to the Tim Stead Trust which will enable us to continue with our mission to securing a future for creativity and inspiration through engagement with wood.

The contributions made are recognised through the named wooden books that adorn the shelves in The Steading. Made from a variety of indigenous hardwoods and engraved with the Patron’s name or short commemorative message, the ever growing library of books is a nod to Tim’s Axes for Trees and a constant reminder of those who help us to achieve our goals.

If you are interested in learning more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch director@timsteadtrust.org

You can download a copy of our Patrons form to print at home and send it by post or email.

AN ENDURING LEGACY

Leave a Gift in Your Will

Leaving a gift to the Trust in your will helps secure the long-term care of The Steading and ensures Tim Stead’s legacy continues beyond our own lifetimes. Gifts may be a fixed sum, a percentage of an estate or a specific asset, and can be discussed in confidence.

Leaving a gift to the Tim Stead Trust in your will is a powerful way to support the long-term care of The Steading and ensure Tim Stead’s legacy continues beyond our own lifetimes.

Legacy gifts help us to:

  • plan for the future with confidence

  • respond to conservation challenges as they arise

  • protect the Trust from short-term financial pressures

  • invest in learning, access and skills transmission
